On December 20th, a State FFA Leadership night was held at Pettisville High School. Schools from all over the area came to participate. Four state FFA officers were present, including State FFA President Jessica Shanahan, District 1 FFA President Caroline Weihl, District 2 FFA President Ryan Roberts and District 4 FFA President Diana Stacy. After presenting an opening discussion, participants were split up into groups with one state officer.

The sessions focused on the saying “the value of me, the value of we”. Students participated in team building activities as well as group discussions. “Leadership night was a lot of fun and the sessions the officers held were very good” said Pettisville Secretary Kelsey Wierauch.  After the group sessions several travel drives were passed out from the Ohio FFA Foundation. After snacks, there was a dodge ball tournament.

The 20th wasn’t the only time Pettisville FFA members spent time with a state officer. On December 15th, District One FFA President Caroline Weihl came to Pettisville to talk to the Ag Students in all five classes. She discussed general ag, FFA opportunities, ag promotion, challenging yourself, and college life. “Caroline was a very good speaker, and spoke about some very interesting topics” said junior Claire Fry. “Caroline had some very creative ways of teaching these topics” said Justin Pursel. Many positive comments came out from all of the Ag classes. Thank you to Caroline for taking time out of her busy schedule to visit Pettisville ag students. These visits are sponsored by the Ohio FFA Association.
