The parliamentary procedure contest process is a fifteen-minute presentation of how to properly dispose of business at a meeting. During the contest opening and closing ceremonies are completed, along with six classified abilities that must be handled during any of the motions brought to attention. The “fake” motion used by the team was to give each freshman a ten dollar scholarship to help pay for their FFA jackets. There were numerous discussions on this motion, which helped each member earn their allotted points for discussing at least three times. Reporter, Taylor Kruse said, “The funniest discussion statement was given by Alex Donnett who for the purpose of the contest was opposed to the motion saying some people may be allergic to the FFA jackets so it would be a bad idea to wear them”. Some of the abilities handled were withdrawal of a motion, postpone definitely, and fix time to adjourn. Afterwards each member took a quiz on parliamentary procedure conduct. Vice President, Luke Meller stated, “The team did pretty well, but I think there is still room for improvement from each member because you can always improve yourself.” The team placed third out of six teams and received a gold rating.
