On December 9th, FFA chapters throughout the county traveled to Archbold to participate in the Job Interview contest. The Interview consists of a written application followed by an interview with a needed resume and cover letter sent in ahead of the completion date, then concluded with a follow-up letter to the owner of the position that is being applied to or the interviewer. Torin Blosser and Emily Herring represented Pettisville FFA at the competition. Torin Blosser applied for a sales representative position for Tractor Supply Company. The position entailed for the applicant to have experience at managing money, working with customers, and background knowledge with animal nutrition. Emily Herring applied for the Farm Worker position held at Oak Ridge Farms. This position consisted of managing a 5-acre garden, small heard of cattle, and a small heard of hogs. The applicant also needed the experience of operating farm machinery. The county contest placed Emily Herring in 2nd place with Torin Blosser in 4th, both receiving a gold rating. Emily Herring moved on to the District Contest that took place on December 14th. She is still waiting on results.
