Treasurer - Nathan We met in a comfortable, but excessively air conditioned, conference room in the second floor of Cabelas for $75. We had a buffet brought in to our room which originally was $11 a person, but we tried some ostrich which added about $3 for a total of $14 a person. The total for the meals was $185. The alumni helped sponsor the retreat and it was well worth it. When we checked out, the manager said he was not charging us for the room.
Sentinel - Luke On July 12, 2011 the Pettisville FFA officer team went to Cabelas for officer training and we met in a conference room for sessions and for lunch. We had ostrich as one of the meats for lunch. We learned about running committees and being good leaders. During breaks we looked around the store.
Student Advisor - Travis Today at our officer retreat, some officers needed help making decisions; which helping them is my job. When we needed a break, I helped with deciding if we should play games or browse the store. Overall, I believe I am better able to help others today.
President - Aaron On our way to Cabelas for our officer retreat we got to know each other. When we arrived we played games to get everyone talking and more open. As we finished the day we did personal growth activities to help us understand ourselves, so we can be a better leader to others. The retreat was an experience that was fun and helped us become better leaders.
Secretary - Kelsey I keep attendance and record minutes for each meeting. I learned the jobs of the committees I am on and how to take all my strengths and put them to use in our chapter. I reflected on my weaknesses and how to make them better. I thought about all the things I am thankful for in my life. I need to work on my secretary book, and start getting reports organized. Goal setting was also something I learned, and all the necessary steps to take.
Vice-President - Taylor I maintain the committees in our chapter and assist the president. My job is to encourage committee chairman to meet with their committee members when needed and to always put their best effort into their task. I also need to assign every person to a committee that I believe they can succeed in, and will enjoy. My job requires me to keep committee chairman orderly and get committee work turned in efficiently.
Assistant Vice-President - Logan I assist the vice-president in all she does and take over for her when she is absent. At the retreat I learned about different divisions of committees that I am in charge of: for example, the community development, student development, and chapter development divisions. All of these committees are used to get FFA members active in our chapter or community and to further ourselves as leaders and students.
